TEXTBOOK: Geometry, McDougal Littell (Larson, Boswell, Kanold, Stiff)

COURSE DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES: The Geometry course is a full year course designed to allow students to explore geometric situations, develop conjectures, and prove conjectures using a variety of methods.  Students will use a two-column proof system as well as paragraph-style, flow, and coordinate proofs.  Students will also explore topics such as area and volume, and apply formulas to compute these measurements for solid figures.

Please bring the following items to class every day:
                                        1. Textbook
                                        2. 3-ring binder/notebook

GRADING SCALE: The grading scale will follow that of North Olmsted High School. Please refer to Student Handbook for questions regarding the calculation of grades.

TESTS: Tests will be given approximately once every two weeks. Students must discuss with me a possible time to make up a missed test. An unexcused absence on the day of the test will result in a score of 0.

QUIZZES: Quizzes will generally be announced, but unannounced quizzes will also occur. There will usually be at least 1 quiz per week.

HOMEWORK: Assignments will be given daily and are due the next school day after being assigned. These assignments are checked for completeness, not correctness. It is the student's responsibility to understand the material. Homework missed due to excused absences can be turned in without penalty within the number of days missed. Please refer to the Student Handbook regarding make up work.
