Conclusion
We wanted to test to see if there was a difference between the proportion of men who dine in at McDonalds and the proportion of women that dine in at McDonalds. To test this, we observed customers at the North Olmsted McDonalds on three different days, at three different times, in ten minute intervals. We counted all persons who came up to the register. Our sample was North Olmsted McDonald’s dine in customers. We performed a 2-Prop Z Test, and ended up with a p-value of 0.01135. Therefore we could reject our null hypothesis at the 0.05 level of significance since our p-value is less than alpha. We have sufficient evidence to say that the true proportion of men that dine in at McDonalds and the true proportion of women that dine in at McDonalds are not equal.
