Sampling:
-
Our sample was the people that go into Fragapane’s in North Olmsted on 28625 Lorain Rd from 12pm - 2 pm on Sundays every week for 4 weeks. We picked the people that walk in on Sundays from 12pm - 2pm on Sundays because we believed this time frame would have the most steady flow of customers throughout the two hours, and also that this would be a busy time to give us the good amount of data that we need. We also took the amount of gender vs an interval of 15 minutes within the 2 hours. We had total 576 people, 306 men and 270 women.

Two Sample T-Test
1. µ1=Sample mean of males walking into Fragapane's
µ2=Sample mean of females walking into Fragapane's
2. Ho = µ1 = µ2
3. Ha = µ1 > µ2
4. a = .05
5.
6. The conditions for the Two-Sample T-Test were met because the samples for men and women are both greater than 30, and our sampling technique had randomization. We selected the Two-Sample T-Test so that we could use a test statistic to compare the means of two sets of data.
7. t = 1.08 and df = 61
8. p-value = 0.143
9. We fail to reject the null hypothesis at the .05 level of significance because the p-value is > α. Therefore, we do not have sufficient evidence to say that the number of males that go to Fragapane’s within a 15 minute interval is different than the number of females that go to Fragapane’s within a 15 minute interval. -
