Statement of the Problem
Our purpose for doing our project on this particular topic is because
we want to find out if there is a relationship between student’s cumulative high school G.P.A, and the number of extra-curricular activities they participate in. It is our belief that there is no direct relationship, and that there are other extraneous factors that play a role in a students cumulative G.P.A.

ABSTRACT:
To find our background research, we visited a number of different websites to find similar studies to ours. Throughout our search, we found a few studies, all of which had no relationship between cumulative G.P.A and weekly amount of hours participated in extra-curricular activities. These studies were held on mainly middle school students and some elementary school students. This made us want to know more about whether or not a G.P.A. is affected by how many extracurricular activities the student has. We sent out about 75 surveys to randomized juniors and seniors study hall classes. We found out the students classes by going down to the office and searching through their schedules and writing down their name, teacher, and period. We recieved back from these teachers 50 surveys for us to fill in our data in the Minitab application. After we filled in our information into Minitab we performed a two way t-test which yeilded us a p-value of 0. Having a p-value of zero means that with no doubt we can reject our null hypothesis. We had an extra ten surveys that we managed to collect after our data was calculated that we could not use because our project was due.
