Abigail Boerwinkle

Abby is currently enrolled as a senior in North Olmsted High School and is set to graduate in 2020. In her high school years she has taken various higher level math and science courses to explore and narrow down exactly which fields she enjoys most. Her experiences in AP Computer Science, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Calculus AB and BC, Honors CADD, and Honors Robotics have helped her decided on mechanical engineering as her career path and plans on earning her masters in aerospace engineering. She is still undecided on her choice of college but she hopes to attend either the University of Cincinnati or Kent state in the fall of 2020.

Abby has always been a volunteer at heart. In her highschool years, she’s been a part of several volunteer groups within her school including SITES, National Honor Society, and Key Club. Through these organizations she’s offered countless hours of her time and numerous more volunteering at Fairview Hospital. Abby has used her leadership skills and passion for service to organise service projects in the past, including an event called Cinderfella, a male beauty pageant in which all profits are donated to a charity of choice. Even after high school, she plans on continuing her service and use her education in the process.

Clark Starr

Born in Florida, Clark moved to North Carolina when he was three and lived there most of his life until the end of his middle school career. Suffering from chronic pain for two and a half years, he moved to Ohio when he was almost fourteen and found his home in the community of North Olmsted. He has six siblings: two full siblings, three step-siblings, and one half-brother.

His life changed dramatically during the time he was bound in bed (due to his chronic pain). He started becoming more methodical and started considering his purpose. He came to know Jesus as a result and trusted in him throughout his time stuck in bed. His broken heart began to heal as he gave his suffering to Jesus.

After recovering from chronic pain, he decided to fully invest in his education. Starting off with only partial school days in eighth grade he quickly came to excel in his schoolwork and quickly advance in his classes. Although Clark had only one honors class in ninth grade he climbed into Advanced Placement (or AP) classes in order to better his education. In addition, he decided to become heavily involved in his community, taking part in several clubs and activities such as Link Crew, Mock Trial, National Honors Society, his youth group’s leadership councils (SYC and Atoma), and even volunteer to run his church’s soundboard.

Yet even in his successful and healed life Clark still chooses to give his life up to the Lord, for he realizes where his strength, purpose, and love comes from. Due to this Clark hopes to one day share what he has learned as a teacher out of his passion for learning and excelling in whatever he sets his mind to.
