Statement of the Problem

Why We Did It:

The purpose of this project was to see the differences in driving abilities between the sexes at North Olmsted High School.  This study was done by looking at the number of speeding tickets, accidents, moving violations, etc. that a random sample of North Olmsted High School junior and senior male and females have gotten.

The key issue that was raised during this study was whether or not teenage girls should have lower automobile insurance rates than teenage boys.

Does the sex of the driver make a significant enough difference for insurance companies to charge teenage males more than teenage females? Do they have justification for this?
