Discussion:

Our study, just like any other had a few weaknesses. Minitab chose the specific people who would receive our survey in North Olmsted High School. Some students attend a different school such as ombudsman or home schooling so they did not respond to our survey. Those students add to our non-response bias.

Also, some students could have lied because it was done in a survey form and we have no way of making sure they were telling the truth. Therefore, we couldn’t be 100% sure that we were getting the actual opinion of all the people included in our experiment.
If we were to run this study again, we would like to expand our population. North Olmsted High School is fine for the experiment but a population with more people from other races, age groups and sexual orientations would provide a more diverse population for out study. Asking others outside of North Olmsted High School could give us a better look at people’s overall opinions of abortion legislation. A wider range of people over just focusing on one school is going to broaden the results of the opinions. This topic is a universal controversy and most people are very opinionated on the issue. North Olmsted High School is not different compared to the rest world. So, widening our search will not change the basis of our study. In a future study, we would aim to eliminate the non response bias by  surveying only students and faculty members that are at the school all day so they have the opportunity to fill out the survey. We can’t ensure truthfulness out of the people who fill out the survey. We can encourage them to answer honestly by ensuring that their responses will be kept anonymous. This study would be run closely to the first one, but with a wider population with better techniques for obtaining the data.
