Conclusion
We fail to reject the null hypothesis at the
0.05 level of significance since the p-value is less than
α. Thus, there is
insufficient evidence to conclude that party affiliation and
cumulative GPA for North Olmsted High School students are not
independent. One significant point to note is that our study had to
be modified – we had to use very broad GPA ranges in order to come
up with expected values greater than 5. Despite this, our study
confirms what we suspected: Party affiliation does not seem to
affect or correlate to cumulative GPA in any significant way.
