In my background information, unfortunately I did not find many websites dealing with gender associations and restaurant/business places. Only one website and article actually stuck out and is somewhat in the area of my study. In the article I read, scientists have done 13 different tests trying to prove a hypothesis that men and women do not really have any distinctly different characteristics. The reason why so many people think that men and women are so divergent is that they are being placed in stereotypical categories. The study also show that over 10,000 people were tested and about 100 different characteristics from empathy to sexuality and science inclination and extroversion have no association with the gender a person is. This relates very little to my own study, but in a way I see the correlation between men and women and how they are put into set categories automatically. As my observational data tells me there is no difference of the mean number of men that come into Malley’s within a 15 minute time interval than the mean number of women that come into Malley’s within a 15 minute time interval, I can see how the article relates a little saying that there is not much of a difference between the minds of men and women. With that being said, my study and the study I read from the article my conclusion is somewhat matching up with theirs also.
