Conclusion
After running the two proportion z-test we calculated a
p-value of .409.
This is a very large
p-value meaning we could not disprove our null hypothesis,
however if we continued our survey and got more responses or
saw a larger difference in proportions develop we might be
able to conclude that there is a difference in the true
proportions of preference for ice cream preference between
males and females at North Olmsted High School.
We fail to reject our null hypothesis at the
significance level 0.05 because our p-value is .409 which is
greater than 0.05.
This means that have
insufficient data to prove that the true proportion of males
who prefer vanilla ice cream differs from females who prefer
vanilla ice cream.
