Statement of the Problem
The purpose of this project is to determine whether there is a difference between the average salary earnings between teenage males and females. Basically, we are trying to determine whether there is a significant difference in earnings between teenage males and females. The key issue is to determine whether there may be a salary gap between teenage male and female workers. In our observational study, my partner and I plan to survey eighty upper class high school students from North Olmsted High School to determine, based on the amount of time spent at a certain job and the number of hours worked per week, whether a certain gender group is more likely to earn more than the other. We plan to take a sample of forty random students from the Junior and Senior classes from North Olmsted High School. Based on current research, my partner and I want to see whether or not the consensus of multiple studies on that adult women do on average earn less than adult males is extrapolated to the teenage population.
