Texting vs. GPA

 Discussion

Weaknesses: Our initial sample was supposed to be taken by 100 students, however we only got 68 response. Our survey asked "Do you text during school?" which may have caused response bias because texting during school is breaking a school rule and students may have lied about their GPA. In order to make our survey more dependable, we could have looked up students cumulative GPA's to make sure it matched with the student's answer. Some students answered their cumulative GPA with a range instead of a specific number, which effected our study because those surveys could not be used. In our survey we had more males than females being surveyed which may have been a confounding variable.

Extrapolation: Our study of the relationship between GPA and texting at students from North Olmsted High School could be broadened to include all high schools in the United States.

Suggestions: A bigger sample size would have caused the survey to be more accurate as well an even amount of females and males being surveyed. To make our study more reliable, we also could have an even amount of students from each grade being surveyed.
