Discussion

   Weaknesses

A few weaknesses of this study include non-response bias. I had quite a few students who did not respond to the survey. There were also students chosen for the sample that did not go to the school for classes such as full time Polaris students and Post Secondary Students, so I could not get a survey to them. That might have had an effect on the study. As well some other confounding variables might be the response students gave. Some students might have no given correct data at all, such as their race and real GPA. Some might have been prone to place a higher GPA than their true cumulative GPA, which again could have thrown off study. The sample sizes were quite different as well.

Extrapolation

I do not feel that you can extrapolate these results beyond the Ohio Schools. Simply because of possible population size differences between the two groups in other schools in other states, for example California would have a higher percentage of Asian students than in Ohio. The curriculum in other states is also different, which again might affect the GPA of students. As well North Olmsted provides many honors and AP classes, which affects the GPA of students.

Further Studies

I would suggest that further studies be done in other states to see if the results hold true as my study. It would be interesting to see if the results remain the same even out of our state, or perhaps on a national wide level. I would also research the reason behind these results if they are genetic, or simply cultural.
