Are Hormones Making Us Shorter?

Study!!!

  • For our sampling we did a random sample of 30 students from the entire North Olmsted High School student body. We were given a list of all high school students from Mrs. Caso which we opened in Minitab. After opening the list we used the random number generator taking samples from columns. We took a sample of 30 students from the columns. The random number generator selected 30 random students that would be measured. After using the Minitab number generator we went to the guidance office and looked up each student’s schedule. After looking up the students schedule we went to each of their 6/7 period classes and measured them in inches using a tape measure. We went to the students classes for 3 days to make sure we would get everyone on our randomly selected list. We recorded each of their heights on our chart from Minitab.
  • μ =true average current height of North Olmsted High School students.

    Null Hypothesis: μ=66

    Alternative Hypothesis μ>66

    Significance level= α =0.05

Central limit theorem holds since our sample is made up of 30 students. Since we don’t know sigma we are using a one sample t-test.
