Conclusion

The students at North Olmsted High School prefer movies to books.

Why?

Because we were able to reject the null hypothesis, we can conclude that the average approval score for books is actually less than that for movies. From this result, however, we cannot infer anything. Earlier, I said that if books are preferred over movies, it is likely that the critical reading skills of the students at NOHS are high and they are likely to continue reading after high school. But since books are not preferred to movies, we cannot conclude the opposite. In the background research, there was no evidence to suggest that movies actually reduced the reading skills and literacy of the students. We cannot conclude anything along these lines.

However, we can reach one significant conclusion from the results of the study. The students overwhelmingly prefer movies to books. It turns out that movies may be mightier than books after all.

Haha!

We took a survey about apathy on campus. Of the surveys sent out, only 2% were returned and the overwhelming majority of the respondents said they didn't care if there was apathy on campus.    - Tony Colle
