Conclusion
Our hypothesizes for the outcomes of this study were both incorrect. Both the chi-square test and 2-prop z-test had failed to reject their null hypothesis. Since the chi-square test failed, our proposal that there is a relationship between ice cream flavor preference and gender type was wrong. This was most likely due to how the girls were split down the middle in terms of which flavor they preferred (30 chocolate girls/30 vanilla girls). Based on how the 2-proportion z-test failed, we were also able to determine that our proposals that boys would like vanilla more than girls and girls would like chocolate more than boys was wrong. Instead, boys were the ones who preferred chocolate and girls vanilla more than the other gender. Even though our study did not agree with our purpose, we still had fun and found out which flavor, chocolate or vanilla, people tend to prefer (vanilla won).
