Chicken vs. Steak

BASED ON GENDER

Discussion

Throughout our study we discovered a few weaknesses. One of the major weaknesses was that some students did not return the surveys and some students are full-time post secondary or polaris students which results in a non-response bias. We also had surveys that were returned and had the meat preference circled, but not the student’s gender which results in response bias. Another weakness was that some students were vegetarian, in which there were so few that we did not count them toward our study.

We can most likely extrapolate our study to include those in Northeastern Ohio because there is nothing really unique about North Olmsted High School that would indicate us not being able to conclude this about other people in the surrounding areas. However, we cannot go as far as saying that we are able to extrapolate this across the country because different areas have different eating habits. For example, in the south they have different eating preferences than somebody in the north.

We could further our study by including other types of meat from the darkest red meats to lighter meats or fish. Also, in our study we can include vegetarians or vegans. The more selection of meats we include the more complex our results would be. We might have to include a larger sample size to get an accurate representation for each group and meat preference.
