THE VALUE OF FACEBOOK

We conclude that there is an association between gender and how important Facebook is to them in their daily lives. When we first did the chi-squared test the expected cell count values were to low to draw a conclusion. We then decided to group the rankings of our data. The groups were as follows: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, and 7-10. This grouping allowed for the expected cell counts to be greater than five. After this grouping our p-value was 0.172. In conclusion, we fail to reject the null hypothesis at the 0.05 level of significance, therefore, there we have insufficient evidence to suggest that a student’s gender and how important Facebook is to them in their daily lives is not independent.
