Tank Tops in Schools

Conclusion

While we may not have been able to find the answers we had originally set out to find, this study taught us a lot about statistics in general.  First, we learned that hypothesis tests don't always work out in real life like they did in the text book.  Some of our assumptions were not met and thus the test statistics themselves were not completely accurate.  This study also showed us why categorical data is not as easy as numerical to interpret.  But, we learned a little about the opinions on the dress code and tank tops of the students and staff at North Olmsted High School.  With the first hypothesis test we ran, we could not make a valid conclusion because two expected cell counts were less than five, so the assumptions were not met.  For our second hypothesis test, we also could not obtain a valid conclusion because our assumptions were not met.  Therefore, a larger sample size would be necessary to draw valid conclusions on the opinions of appropriateness of wearing thin strapped tank tops in school.
