2-sentence conclusion: We reject the null
hypothesis at the 0.05 level of significance because p-value<α.
Therefore there is sufficient evidence to say that the mean
number of tardies per student in North Olmsted High School during
the first three quarters of the 2012-2013 school year was less than
for the 2013-2014 school year.
We have come to the conclusion that there is
a correlation between start time and the relative number of tardies.
We carried out a survey and based on a 2-sample t-test, we concluded that there is sufficient evidence
to say that the mean number of tardies per student in North Olmsted
High School during the first three quarters of the 2012-2013 school
year was less than for the 2013-2014 school year.
This means that as the school start time is made earlier, it
appears that the number of tardies increases in this particular
population.
