Gender vs. iPhones

Conclusion

We failed to reject the null hypothesis at the 0.05 level of significance. The P-value of 0.1497 is greater than α. Therefore, there is not sufficient evidence to conclude that the number of female students at NOHS who own an iPhone is greater than the number of male students that own an iPhone.

We have come to the conclusion that there is no correlation between the number of female students who own an iPhone versus the number of male students who own an iPhone. We carried out a survey and based on a 2-proportion z-test, we concluded that there is not sufficient evidence to conclude that more female students in NOHS own an iPhone compared to the male students in NOHS. This means that there are about the same amount of female students in NOHS carrying an iPhone as male students in NOHS.
