The Study

We conducted a survey for our project. Our population was all of the students at NOHS. Our sample contained 150 students. We got back 87 of the 150 surveys we sent out. The ones that didn't come back, were accounted into our non-response bias. After gathering all of our information, we ran the appropriate test which was a One Proportion Z test to see which phone is more superior at North Olmsted High School: Iphone or Android.
Hypothesis Tests:

1 Proportion Test

Is the proportion of students at NOHS who have an Iphone larger than the proportion of students who have an Android?
1.
P1=The true proportion of Iphone users at North Olmsted High School
P2=The true proportion of Android users at North Olmsted High School

2.  Ho: P2=P1
3.  Ha:P2>P1
4.a= .05

5. Assumptions: The sample must be independantly selected and random.

np1=(53)(.61)=32.33>10                           n(1-p1)=53(1-.61)=20.67>10
np2=(34)(.39)=13.26>10                           n(1-p2)=34(1-.39)=20.74>10

6.
7. z= 2.037
8. p= .027
9. We reject our null hypothesis at the 0.05 level of significance because our p-value is less than our alpha. Therefore we have sufficient evidence to show that the proportion of Iphones at NOHS is larger that the proportion of Androids at NOHS.
