Weakness- A weakness in our study was a nonresponse bias, of the 45 people we had as a result of our random sample we only reached 30 of them. This is still a sufficient number to conduct a valid study although there were 15 people we were unable to reach this is a big weakness because those 15 people could have been in CCP or college credit plus classes who may focus a lot of their time into college preparation including their studying on the ACT which may have increased our sample mean. Another weakness in our study is response bias, meaning people could have lied about their ACT score because they may have been embarrassed or forgot.
Extrapolation- We cannot extrapolate because several factors can affect ACT scores of seniors in different high schools. Some high schools might different resources to prepare for the ACT. They might be taking some classes that are not offered at NOHS which might help them prepare for the test.
Suggestions- There are many factors to our study that we could have improved; for example we could have only taken our sample of students who attend class at NOHS and our population would’ve been all NOHS seniors who have at least one class at NOHS. This would make the people in our sample reachable and lower our nonresponse bias. We also could have made them log into their college board account and show us proof of their ACT, thus accounting for the response bias. Also we could perform multiple trials after few years if there is any change.
