Lunch Preference vs. Gender

Discussion

The study I have conducted has a few weaknesses. The problem of some students not having a lunch or simply not eating one was a big issue. I had to take out twenty students who did not have a lunch or did not eat one. Another weakness would be the sample.  I had started out with a sample size of 150. I received only 120 in return, which would give me a great amount of nonresponse bias. A few students had to be removed because they attend Polaris and cannot complete the survey.

The amount of money a student spends on lunches could affect whether or not a student buys a lunch. Some students might not be able to afford the school lunches and therefore have to pack themselves a lunch everyday.

Whether or not a student packs could depend on the school lunch itself. Maybe the student feels there isn’t enough variety in school lunches. Some students may not like school lunches. Due to the students allergies or health could affect whether a student packs or not.

I would not extrapolate outside of studying among high school any further than that because it would not be accurate to place in the study.

I would recommend further experimenting with a wider range of high school populations across the country to give more accurate results. I would also try to stratify the samples with regards to their economic situation and eating habits to get more precise results.
