The Favorite Is . . .
Through much study and statistical tests we have arrived at the conclusion that there is no relationship between a person’s gender and their favorite type of fruit.
Our null hypothesis is that there is no relation between the type of fruit and the gender; using a chi-squared test we obtained a p-value of .403. Our alpha was .05, obviously with a p value much greater than .05 we can fail to reject at any level of significance. We have adequate evidence to support our null hypothesis; therefore we fail to reject the null hypothesis. This means that there is no relation between gender and fruit preference.
