Abstract

Our topic was what sports are students more likely to quit using Individual Vs. Team sports.  Our population was all the students that attend North Olmsted High School that were listed on the student sheet given to us by Mrs. Caso.  Our sample was the 100 randomly selected students from North Olmsted High School that were chosen by the Minitab random number generator.  The sampling Technique we used was to obtain a list of all the students from NOHS and assign them all a number.  Than using Minitab, we used a random number generator to obtain a list of 100 students to distribute surveys to.  We input the data recieved from the surveys that were returned into minitab.  We marked the team sports as "T" and the individual sports as "I" for our data purposes.  We ran a 2 proportion Z test to see which sport either "I" or "T" was input more and based on that data we were able to construct our graphs to show which sport was quit more, or in otherwords, appeared in our data more often. We found our p-value and found that we fail to reject the null hypothesis that we set for our data.
