The weaknesses of my study

img There are several weaknesses in my study. First of all, only 54 people responded to my survey. Second, only 11 left handed people responded compared to 43 right handed people. Also, I had a several replies that either didn't answer the surveys questions, listed both hands, or circled multiple numbers. In general, there was just not enough people who responded to get sufficient results. I was unable to run a Chi-Square test because I did not have enough students in each group. Another weakness in my study was the format of my study. The answers 1 and 2 were closer to the persons left hand on the paper. Also, 4 and 5 was closer to the persons right hand. So depending on what hand they used, they may have been more inclined to circle whatever is closer to their hand.

There appears to be no confounding variables for this study, as handedness and political prefernce are very disjoint events.

Extrapolation

Due to my lack of results from my survey, I would not extrapolate my data to any population. This is because for some categories in my study I did not recieve any results (for example, left handed conservatives).

Suggestions:

I would do this study again, but with a much larger sample size. I would recommend an entire school as opposed to just a 100 or less people. Also, I would recommend looking for a correlation between handedness, the part of the brain that is dominant, and the political tendencies of people with that dominant part of the brain.
