Weaknesses
Our study had a fair number of weaknesses. There was a lot on non response bias, with the 37 students that did not, for whatever reason, return a survey. One survey that we did get back was a 6.5, so we had to make the decision to split it into a 6 and a 7. Another weakness was if people did not understand what global warming was, so they could have circled a random number instead of 1 [either don't understand or no problem], or that could have led to a higher volume of people answering 1 than otherwise.
Extrapolate
We could extrapolate this study to cover any other high school in North East Ohio, as long as there was a population of teenagers present, because their respective viewpoints would not be affected by factors such as other local community viewpoints or environmental situations.. Adults could not be included, or would have to take a separate survey, because their viewpoints could be very different than teenagers because of different life experiences and knowledge, which could severely throw off the data.
Possible Improvements
We did not include age as a relative factor in our survey, so we could include the actual ages of people to further compare our data. We could also send out more surveys so we could have more raw data to work with; even if people do not send back all of the surveys, it should still yield higher returns.
