Why we did this in the first place...
We want to know if a person’s gender affects the strength of their belief in global warming as a problem to society.
We decided to research this possible association because global warming is a controversial topic of the day and people cannot agree on how much of a threat it is, so actions to prevent it are slow in coming. While it is more obvious when you look at demographics like political views on what people believe, the idea of if gender affects the belief is more ambiguous and so a test for an association seems relevant.
