One confounding variable was a response bias, we sent out 70 surveys, but of those 70 we only received about a little more then half back. Another confounding variable was that two of the kids in our random sample didn’t even go to the school because they took online classes so there was no way for us to contact them. Another was that kids weren’t replying to the study with numerical values and they were using words like “a lot”.

All North Olmsted High School students is what we can extrapolate our results too since we took a random sample from this population.

Furthermore, I suggest studies that look at the relationship between gender and time spent on social media along with more studies as to what real effects social media has on a person's mental and physical health when over used.
